Objek was commissioned to design and realise a new high-end residence on a compact site positioned on the upper slopes of Green Point, Cape Town. The project presented a unique opportunity to respond to both the constraints of a tight urban footprint and the exceptional dual-aspect views offered by its elevated setting.
The design approach was driven by a careful orchestration of space, light, and outlook. Living areas were strategically positioned to capture expansive northern views towards the Cape Town Stadium and Robben Island, while simultaneously engaging with the dramatic backdrop of Signal Hill to the south. This duality informed a layered architectural response, balancing openness with privacy.
A fresh, timeless, and contemporary language underpins the home, with clean lines, refined materiality, and carefully framed apertures enhancing the connection between interior and exterior. Despite the limited site dimensions, the design maximises spatial efficiency through vertical layering and seamless transitions between levels, resulting in a home that feels both generous and composed.
The completed residence stands as a considered response to its context, a contemporary urban retreat that elevates everyday living through thoughtful design and a strong connection to place.
